Wells Museums
Through extensive collections of artifacts, the Museum of Lighthouse History explains the significance of these structures to America. Exhibits include photos, clothing, lenses and bells, as well as stories from the keepers. Tours of the museum are offered daily from late May to the second weekend in October and then on weekends until Christmas. Appointments can also be arranged to see the museum.
Portraying the extensive history of Wells and Ogunquit's, the Museum at Wells First Church (or First Meetinghouse) provides a variety of artifacts and documents. Wells roots were established in 1640, so there are hundreds of years of information for visitors to take in. Tours are available on varying hours each week throughout the year or by appointment. Wedding ceremonies can be held inside the church.
